This was all Irish to me when I initially poured it but gradually I was able to pull out more and more rye notes. There’s definitely some uniqueness to this blend with the honeyed grain notes contrasting against the mintier, herbal rye. Keeper’s Heart included some samples of the individual components that were used and having tasted them I must say that the final blend succeeds in being greater than the sum of its parts. However it’s still not anything special, and as someone who doesn’t love Irish whiskey, I just don’t see myself ever reaching for it.
