Tasting Notes
Nose: Powerful and sweet, raisins, figs, dates, and other stone fruits. Walnut, caramel, and plenty of baking spice with clove and nutmeg.
Palate: Heavy and syrupy, Luxardo cherries and dark fruits, more baking spice, oak, apples, black tea, and tobacco. It runs a touch hot for the proof. Additionally I get a hint of lemon peel and an interesting umami mushroom note.
Finish: Medium to long length, opens with spice which quickly fades followed by more dark fruits and lemon zest, caramel, chocolate, tobacco and lingering oak.
Rating: 90/100 – Incredible | An all time favorite
A decadent, well-aged sherry bomb with a lot to unpack. The longer I sit with this the more new notes I’m able to pull out, with the mushroom flavors really taking it in a unique direction. Glen Moray hit a home run with this release.
