This is a good wheated bourbon. It has the signature cinnamon spice with cherry sweetness that is common in this category. There’s nothing exceptional going on however the flavors are well balanced and the proof feels right. At $70 for non age-stated whiskey, you’re paying a premium for the “river aging” process but I’m not tasting anything that would make that premium worth it. Regardless, this is still a fine release from O.H. Ingram and hopefully a sign of strong future whiskeys to come.
