Palate: Thick mouth feel, good weight, lots of vanilla and malt, fruitier than the nose with more citrus and tropical notes, almonds, pepper, and some acidity.
Finish: Medium to long length, white pepper, malt, citrus, and cream soda sweetness.
Rating: 84/100 – Excellent | Really quite exceptional
Powerful and bold. This is a bourbon lover’s Scotch. This cask was clearly very active, bursting with vanilla and oak that dominate from start to finish. There’s not a lot of subtlety here, and it drinks younger than most 20 year whiskies I’ve tried, but I enjoy the profile all the same.
