Tasting Notes
Nose: Very Canadian nose. Plenty of caramel with sweet corn, toasted oak, rye spice, cinnamon candy, pear, and a bit of wintergreen.
Palate: Medium mouth feel with a kick, oily texture, there’s a good balance of sweet and spicy. Notes of green apple, butterscotch, more caramel, nutmeg, clove, vanilla, peanut, and a subtle herbaceousness .
Finish: Long length and spicy with more rye and pepper notes, vanilla, nutmeg, faint licorice, and oak.
Rating: 83 – Excellent | Really quite exceptional
Really fun blend. There’s a lot going on here which makes for a unique experience each time I sit down with it. It has great texture – likely from that extra aged Canadian corn whisky. The palate has a lot of traditional Canadian rye notes with the finish showing more Kentucky to me. With all of the recent Found North popularity, I’d love to see Beam-Suntory utilize more of their northern stock in blends to put out new releases similar to Noe Simple Task.
